There are tons of places on the web to get amazing and completely free stock photos for your project, website, or designs! Most, if not all, of these websites allow their images to be used for commercial purposes and are royalty-free so you never have to worry about legal issues.
Check out my favorite picks for pics 😉
Pixabay is my number one stop for high-quality photos. They have an amazing assortment of different pictures, from animals, people, to computers, and food!
They also have vectors and illustrations if you’re looking for something cute or quirky to add style to your project. It seems they recently added videos too which opens a lot of possibilities for new ideas and projects.
Great Tip: To avoid finding the same images that everyone else is using, try sorting by Latest instead of Popular. Sometimes you can find something totally new and different!
While not as great as Pixabay, moregueFile offers a lot of really unique images. If you’re looking for something very specific you may not find it here, but just browsing you can see they have a lot of high quality pictures. But you’ll find some stuff here that won’t be on all the other stock sites.
3. The Stocks
This isn’t a stocks website in itself but a resource of some great stock websites like Pixabay and Pexels.
It’s simple to use the navigation on the left to jump through different stock sites and see what’s available. It would be almost impossible to not find a great photo with The Stocks.
This website boasts thousands of high quality photos for FREE! They have a bunch of different categories to look through if you don’t know where to start. I checked out their food section and they have some gorgeous (and tasty) pictures.
You do need to sign up for an account to download images however.
Pexels adds at least 1500 new photos every month to its growing database of pictures. Their website is a lot like Pixabay and they do share a lot of the same images. But you’ll notice almost every image they have is top-notch quality and looks like the type of image you would pay money for.

6. Image After
While the quality of images isn’t up to par with some of the other options, Image After is still a great site to keep in your back pocket.
Even if you can’t find the perfect stock photo, there are so many textures available as well. I personally really like the “blur” photos they have!
While this is not a stock photo site, it is an amazing resource for all types of textures. There’s a large variety to choose from; metals, water, nature, fabric, and much more! If you ever need to add more dimension to your project or graphics, keep this website in mind.
8. Open Clipart
If you’re on the hunt for vectors, icons, or other types of illustration, Open Clipart has a huge database of free images.
Depending on what you’re looking for, you’ll find a variety of styles like cartoons, flat, lineart, and silhouettes. Open Clipart is a great resource to add character to any graphic project.
Wow! I bet you didn’t know there were so many websites that had completely free images available for use, did you?
I hope this information was helpful and that you’ll bookmark some of these sites to use in the future. Pixabay is always my first stop for great images but it doesn’t hurt to have a few more in your arsenal.
